Utilizing classic M’fay professional drapery workroom patterns, students learn all the necessary theory behind the timeless Kingston and Empire valances, eliminating all intimidation from these advanced treatments. In addition, students learn the step-by-step fabrication of shaped box pleat valance using professional workroom techniques for scale drawing interpretation, pattern drafting, motif placement and shaped banding. Students complete these advanced top treatments while exploring alternative board mounting techniques which include floating board mounts, pole mounts and medallion mounts. Students complete the course with the confidence to approach complicated valances of any shape or size.
