The online-home study program offers the same curriculum as the on-site classes at Custom Home Furnishings Academy in Charlotte, NC. Students are presented specific projects and are trained, encouraged, and mentored by one of the CHF Academy instructors.

The current classes offered online are Window Treatment 100, 101 and 201. In these classes you will learn how to start and operate a workroom, how to fabricate rod pocket panels, pleated panels, roman shades, balloon shades, swags and jabots and top treatments. These classes are a self-paced home study and you will be activated immediately when you enroll.

The time expectancy for finishing these classes is as follows:

WT 100 - Based on a 2-3 hour commitment per week students will complete the course in 1 month.
WT 101 and 201 - Based on an 8-10 hour commitment per week students will complete the course in 2 months.

The times above may vary based on the skill level, equipment and efforts of the individual student.

For WT 101 and 201 fabrication classes, students will receive a package with all the materials/supplies needed to complete the class projects. When the student completes the projects they are required to send photographs of each treatment and it will be examined by the instructor to make sure the techniques have been mastered.

When all three classes are completed the student is eligible to receive the Career Professional® designation.
