A pelmet is a top treatment made to look like a soft cornice but is rigid like a traditional cornice. No more wavy or flimsy top treatments! Joanna’s method of pelmet making involves using chipboard, an upholstery product that does not require power tools. You can easily cut an intricate and detailed pelmet base by cutting with scissors only. The treatment is lightweight, thin and very strong. In this class students will make pelmet samples using unique techniques and learn methods for creating bowed shapes, intricate bottom edges, cut-outs, banding, and elegant embellishments.
