3Day Class

Beginning with pillow construction basics, students learn techniques for zipper insertion, button closures, pattern drafting and embellishment of high-end pillows. Students learn the step-by-step fabrication of the square, round, boxed, bolster and uniquely shaped pillows. Students create several samples demonstrating basic to advanced fabrication techniques, including covered welt cord, decorative braid cord, fringe, ruffles, appliqués, and flanged edges with mitered corners. The instructor shares trade resources and tips for purchasing a variety of quality pillow inserts including down/feather and synthetic blends. By the end of the course students leave with the critical skills to pattern and fabricate nearly any style pillow.
